First Place, Inc. conducted a symposium and orientation last March 5, 2010 at the Mezzanine Floor of Goldenstate College for all interested and graduating students from the 2 year and degree courses for future internship in the United State of America.

As part of Goldenstate College's Foreign Internship Program, a representative and spokes person of the FPI in the person of Ms. Rose Dapul was invited to talk about the importance and advantages, as well as the process and benefits a student could get in availing the program. Since Goldenstate College is the pioneering institution in General Santos City that sends its students for an on-the-job training abroad particularly in Singapore and Vietnam, the institution tied up with First Place Inc., a Manila based company which is one of the frontrunners in Research, Systems, Training and Placement. This is one way of realizing the College's Mission and Vision; which is to produce globally and economically competitive students who would soon be a part of a great workforce in the modern world.

The FPI is the first private organization in the Philippines accepted as a voting member of the prestigious World Youth Student and Educational Travel Confederation (WYSETC) – WYSE Work Abroad Association (formerly called Global Work Experience Association (GWEA) – FIYTO. Ms. Rosana “Rose” Dapul, the Director of Department of Development and the FPI representative spoke about the functions of the agency and its benefits which an intern can have. They represent almost a hundred cultural exchange organizations and educational institutions worldwide. Their programs are authorized by the US State Department, UK Home Office, Australian DIAC and the Foreign Ministries or relevant government authorities of other countries. FPI connects the students and young professionals to opportunities to work abroad. They provide assistance in assessing and matching an applicant with an educational program or training position, organize documents to get government permits preparing an applicant for host company interviews, series of practices and trial embassy interviews, conduct cultural integration seminars and pre-departure briefings. FPI according to the speaker is presently working faithfully with the US Embassy. They are so far the most responsible people in handling their clients. FPI does not place workers locally or abroad, but legally they serve as a channel for character development and for more great opportunities among students and young professionals as they live the dream.
