GOLDENSTATE JOB’S FAIR & SYMPOSIUM ’10: A Mirror of Timeless Dedication, Commitment, and Excellence

Harmonious Relationship

Intensifying its drive towards excellence, Goldenstate College staged the 2nd Job’s Fair and Symposium on March 21, 2010 at KCC Convention and Events Center, KCC Mall of General Santos. This one-day activity was in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Public Employment Services Office (PESO), and KCC Mall itself. Ad infinitum serving the needs of the community and building harmony with its stakeholders, the institution is geared in giving back to the community what it deserves as partner of the realization of its mission, vision, and goal.


Golden Opportunity

This year’s theme “Linking the Employers and Job Seekers, Working Together for Better Employment Opportunities” provides a many opportunities to the underemployed and unemployed as vacant jobs local and overseas alike were lined for the applicants. The program, emceed by Mr. Ferdie Alcantara, MAEd was opened with the ribbon-cutting spearheaded by Mr. Juan Adames, Asst. Attache-US ICE, Atty. Gloria Tango, DOLE Regional Director, Hon. Darlene Antonino-Custodio, and CEO Warren Manilay, MNSA. Afterwards, there was the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between PESO and Goldenstate College, the highlight of the opening program. This MOA, in effect, paves the way for the in-house job opportunity for the institution’s students’ applicants and others – hence, a golden opportunity. This is the first of its kind in the city.

An Instrument of Hope

With the series of symposia discussing about Human trafficking (conducted by Dept. of Homeland Security), The Role of the Department of Foreign Affairs (thru DFA Regional Consular Office), Career Opportunities (thru PESO) among others, the attendees were equipped of the knowledge indispensable for their future endeavor. Goldenstate, on its part, remains and will intend to do so as one of the venues in giving hope to people who are seeking jobs for their personal and professional advancement. The school is eyeing, for a long as it is needed, to hold affair like this and be a partner of the community in the total manpower development and economical betterment of the city.
