Goldenstate College, Inc.

It was a very exciting day for all the Warriors because one of the country’s top young stars visited the campus of Goldenstate College in General Santos City last January 28, 2011 for an Anti-Drug Campaign. Joseph Bitancol had an up-close and personal encounter with the College’s students and talked on the importance of being aware of the ill effects of drug addiction and other related problems a youth may suffer because of illegal drugs.

Being one of the youths’ advocates of this campaign, Joseph appeared in the anti-drug musical play LIWANAG SA KARIMLAN produced by Sining Parola Ensemble, a Manila based theater group. The play was shown at the Lagao Gym and featured some of the best local talents we have in General Santos City, representing different schools and colleges. The theme of the play is very timely since problems on drug addiction among the youth are still proliferating and rampant.

Through the coordination with the Office of the Student Affairs of Goldenstate College and the realization of the Office’s program on anti-drug awareness, all NSTP students were required to watch the show as part of their lesson and activity. Likewise, a set of guideline questions were distributed to them. This is one of the College’s missions in developing the total well being of its students and producing a desirable and responsible citizen of our country.

The members of the Administration are equally supportive of these kinds of projects because they believe that Goldenstate College has both the Moral and the Social responsibility to every members of his community.
