General Santos City has more to offer other than champions: this time the Tuna Pandesal Contest- its first in the City. No less than the infamous Goldenstate College initiated the move in lieu to the City’s Tuna Festival celebration.

The said event was successfully held at the Goldenstate College HRM Laboratory at San Isidro, this City on September 2, 2009. A total of 23 participants joined vying for the coveted prices in the High School, College, and Professional Categories. Judges form Philippine Foremost Milling Corporation, the major sponsor of this event, acted as jurors who were looking for the pandesal with tuna filling-taste in order satisfy their discriminating tastes.

New Era University-High School Department, Davao Merchant Marine Academy and Aldrin Bakeshoppe bagged the first place in high school, college, and professional categories, respectively.

“We are here not only for the prizes but for the experience that you would  developed. Let’s help make this activity productive, so that we can help the industry,” was the statement of Warren A. Manilay, CEO of Goldenstate College.
