The seminar on ‘Learning to Love Yourself’ was not only for the students of the college. Teachers and staff alike were blessed to have been given advice first hand by the world-renowned expert James Cooper on enhancing their professional looks and attitude towards work.

The Sunday was exceedingly calm and solemn as teachers and staff gathered at Annex 5 in exciting anticipation of the day’s event. Mr. James Cooper came in with his proverbial bright aura, something that proves he is well practiced with what he preaches- personality development. A lot of the participants were awed by his vibrant portfolio.

Though a few were familiar with some of his celebrity works (Maricel Soriano, Dawn Zulueta, Sharon Cuneta), many do not know much of his Hollywood achievements and how he has come to realize his dream of reaching the land of milk and honey with only his sheer talent and unwavering heart. “Dream BIG!”- perhaps this was his ticket to fame and fortune, and perhaps this could be ours too.

After much scrutiny from the expert’s eye, some of the lucky members of the faculty were chosen for the celebrated makeover. With much eagerness, every teacher yearned for expert advice from the Guru. Mr. Cooper emphasized the importance of a embracing outlook for change and a happy disposition towards work. Much of the talk focused on beauty and personality tips, but perhaps what was left engraved in our minds and hearts as co-mentors is that “A positive attitude is the best incentive to beauty”. Indeed, what are all these makeovers and beauty enhancement tips for, if not to boost our inner beauty-that is the gift of our soul?
Much commendation to the captains of our ship, Mr. Warren A. Manilay, CEO; Madam Sara Jane T. Manilay, Finance Officer; our President, Ma’am Josie Yap-Tirador; and our Administrator, Mr. Ferdinand Alcantara for their immeasurable effort to raise our level of Excellence one step further. Kudos to the Goldenstate family in their great and beautiful Becoming!
