Mr. & Ms. Goldenstate 2009- the beauty pageant which opened on Friday night of September 25, 2009 at Parish Center, this City was the much-awaited event of this year’s Intramurals. It was too a night of amazing talents and beauty. The venue was packed with students and guests including Ms. Jinkee Pacquiao.

When the lights went off and the music was ready, the spotlight lighted the stage as the candidates appeared like angels from above. The first in line was the display of Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog whereby the candidates marched from the center court up the stage. In the playsuit, all the title aspirants showing their physical figures gave the audience the genuine attention whose loudest of the cheers hovered the arena. More to it, the Gown and Formal Wear category had the crowd rose to their feet as they applauded their bets. The candidates who were clad in different colorful elegant attires superbly ramped on stage with dignity. True to all beauty competitions, the question and answer portion (Q and A) proved to be the toughest and brain-wracking part as the nervous-filled candidates picked their queries and enunciated their pieces of minds.

And the verdict- both Division 5 candidates claimed the top spots as Mr. John Salamat (BS Tour) and Ms. Jackielyn Navarro (BS HRM) were crowned this year’s ambassadors of beauty to the institution and to the community. Destined to dominate in all the areas including the winning of all minor awards save Miss Talent and Best in Barong Tagalog, Division 5 threshed them all in an unprecedented mode! Truly, it was the night of the “Singko” whom was considered a neophyte division but ended to be the veteran.
