Among ten competing schools, Goldenstate College won Champion in the Annual quiz bee competition organized by the Population Commission Region XII. The competition aims to enhance the level of awareness of students and mentors alike in the continuous alarming increase in the population in the Philippines. The competition was held last November 25, 2009 at Labangal National High School participated by high schools and colleges all over General Santos City. The Second place was won by PIT while STI landed First place. As champion, Goldenstate College will be hosting the said event next year.
Goldenstate College was represented by our very own teacher from the Healthcare Services Department, Ms. Alyn Daro-Tapleras, who is also a registered pharmacist. She was the only one among the contenders who was not able to attend the pre-contest event, which was supposed to give the participants a hint on the possible questions to be answered, yet she surpassed every other contestant with ease and confidence—truly a Golden warrior! Once again, we have proven our stand in excellence and expertise in all endeavors. Kudos to the shining warriors!
